Actionable Intelligence
Indexing, searching, and analyzing massive volumes of unstructured data is complex. Re-shaping and simplifying Nuix’s latest software UI and workflow used by organizations in more than 45 countries was the end goal.
A more simplified visual interface is presented upfront displaying relevant menu options, servers and type of connections in a network. This with the aim to help cybersecurity analysts easily detect and bring to the surface critical facts across vast amounts of evidence.
A floating UI, data event timeline and data visualizations were the core design elements, to create an actionable intelligence visual language.
Define the Future
In order to explain our design direction, we studied how the software worked in real time, we collaborate with Nuix team for over a month and defined several uses cases and set up different scenarios. This gave us the foundation to roll out our new ui design.
Concept
We defined a visual language base on our main characters: the different type of servers in a network, firewalls, data centers, workstations, and users profiles. From here the challenge was to provide clear visualizations that explain the interconnections and states that could occur in a complex scenario. To get this right we worked side by side with Nuix team in Australia and with access to a test enviroment where we could analize the software flows under different scenarios.
Actionable Timeline
The idea was to create a more visual, actionable UI, that could help cyber-security agents quickly detect incidents.
Cross collaboration, posting comments in real time, zoom in and highlight areas that need closed attention, were some of the improvements proposed.
